Vogue 100: A Century of Style

Condé Nast editorship decided to bring Vogue magazine also into the United Kingdom during the First World War. The most practical solution was to create a special British edition, which could be produced directly in London. In 1916 the first copies were printed for sale. Even though the early editions tried to replicate the American Vogue exactly, however, its first editor, Elspeth Champcommunal, had bigger ambitions. Vintage Bowles

-

Everybody likes collecting something. A man can make the rarity even from an ordinary thing, which is valued to him, because he owns it. But imagine those enthusiasts, who really collect  the rare pieces, which hide a little of our history and have their own story. What feeling it has to be, when this person - a collector has something what shaped and changed our whole history?
I love the history of  fashion and the concept of a vintage fashion fascinates me a lot, too. I have found a great man, who is not only a fashionlover (specifically of haute couture), but who also collects it! Todays article is about stunning Hamish Bowles and his documentary named Vintage Bowles. I very appreciate him, because he is lettered, sensitive and a real fashion and its history expert.
